Gateway South commitments benefit local economy

The Darlington Upgrade Project is the next step in the upgrade of Adelaide’s North-South Corridor and will deliver an upgrade of approximately 3.3 kilometres of the existing Main South Road. Gateway South, a Joint Venture of Fulton Hogan and Laing O’Rourke, have been awarded the major works contract for the $620 million project. The consortium has committed to deliver over $285 million in direct economic contribution to South Australia through the head contract and through the work packages identified in the Industry Participation Plan.   The sub-contracting opportunities alone are significant with over $260 million in direct economic contribution, flowing through to local sub-contractors and to South Australian employment. The commitments will be monitored by the Industry Participation Advocate to ensure the project delivers on these targets.
