What Do We Achieve
The revised South Australian Industry Participation Policy recognises public spending in regional areas provides important flow-on benefits in the form of indirect economic contributions, knowledge spill-over and clustering opportunities. This can encourage regional businesses to become involved directly and indirectly in supplying to Government and to invest in improving and expanding their operations.
The intention is to develop regional forward procurement plans in conjunction with all relevant agencies, and ensure that forthcoming opportunities are communicated to regional businesses.
The Office of the Industry Advocate developed Ready to Tender an online guide that was designed to help South Australian businesses navigate the government procurement process. This provides businesses an opportunity to work on their business in their own time.
