What Do We Achieve

Supporting Aboriginal Enterprise

The State Government’s spending and procurement practices can provide a massive opportunity for the State to leverage Aboriginal economic participation outcomes.

The Aboriginal Economic Participation initiatives include increasing the number and diversity of Aboriginal businesses successfully winning State Government contracts. This initiative also provides incentive for lead contractors to create opportunities for Aboriginal employment and enterprise and will identify Aboriginal businesses across South Australia capable of providing goods and services directly to government.

The successful industry engagement strategies developed by the Office of the Industry Advocate will continue to provide networking opportunities and build confidence for owner operators of Aboriginal Enterprises to engage in Government contracts. Further to this, a priority will be to work with Agencies to identify opportunities within their forward procurement plans for each region.

The Office of the Industry Advocate has created a Tender Ready Checklist for South Australian Businesses to assist Aboriginal owned businesses seeking to provide goods and services to State Government Agencies and government funded projects.
