Reducing Red Tape
The Office of the Industry Advocate continually receives feedback from businesses that they are overwhelmed with the amount of information required during the tendering and quoting processes.
The Marshall Liberal Government made a commitment to implement a series of reforms to enable South Australian businesses to better participate in government purchasing by establishing a whole-of-government pre-registration system.
The first step towards establishing such a system was to identify and standardise non-contract specific information being required by businesses when they tender or quote for government work. This has now been completed and the revised and more streamlined approach will be implemented across government by 30 June 2019.
The Office of the industry Advocate is encouraging businesses to take part in a survey on the tendering process which will be conducted during May 2019. To stay up to date on the latest information and updates on the pre-registration system, click here.
